This is a call for help! I am having a problem trying to comment on blogs. I have tried this choosing both "Google account" and "Open ID" and putting in my blog URL. Neither works. When I hit "post," my comments disappear and nothing is posted. Now, I did comment earlier (Presentation Tools entry) on my own blog and it worked fine. Today I tried it and it won't work. I have tried to post comments on several people's blogs without success. I looked up the comments help on Blogger and followed the directions. I must be missing something, so perhaps someone could enlighten me!
Update: I was able to post a comment successfully to a blog that was done on Word Press, but have been unsuccessful with Blogger.
My first bit of advice whenever I try to provide tech support is to first restart your computer. If this doesn't do the trick then try to use another computer if an alternate is available.
ReplyDeleteIf this doesn't help then let me know what error (if any) you're getting. What browser (exp. Firefox, Chrome, IE, Safari) and whether you use a Mac or PC.
One thing I found out about the problem is that your security settings may be preventing you from posting comments. IT (especially in schools) will often add an extra layer of security to work stations. Does this info help at all? http://blogging.nitecruzr.net/2011/07/frustration-of-bloggers-caught-in-login.html (You may have to copy/paste the link.

ReplyDeleteYou are doing so great on all of your own blog posts! I need to ask you a question...are you signed into your Blog? Remember, if you built the blog within our Fredonia identity, you need to sign in to that first. So...go to Fredonia mail, sign in, then click to MORE, then choose Blogger from that list.
If you are doing that, I am thinking that the problem may be more of what Robin is suggesting.
I will also email you...and maybe we can get together to problem-solve? ~kg

ReplyDeleteWell, commenting is apparently very difficult, as one has to clear ALL the cache and cookies, which Google keeps spitting out. Way too much trouble, if you ask me.
ReplyDeleteGlad you found the root of the problem. It's possible that now that you've corrected the issue, you may not have to clear cache and cookies again. If the problem shows up again you can try to selectively delete the Blogger cookie or choose to just delete cache and leave cookies alone. I hope this is the case, but can't be sure. I also hope you will be able to more conveniently add comments to your colleague's blogs. If I had one thing that I'd like to see improved in TOEP it would be a better connected community of TOEP learners. In relation to this, a new IITG proposal was jointly submitted for phase 2 of TOEP keeping this idea in mind.
